Good Morning, As I was reading my bible study last night it dawned on me that sometimes when we ask for God's opinion of something we already know which decision we will be making. I wonder how often we ask God for him to show us his plan, but go ahead with our own plan. It is sort of like asking your husband or significant other about a fashion item, "should I wear this or that," when really you already know in your head which item you are going to choose. God speaks to us when we listen, but if we are always turning our ear and never really hearing God it is hard to know which direction HE would like for us to take. "If you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine." (Exodus 19:5) The book of Habakkuk in the bible tells the perfect back and forth battle of prayers a person can have with God. Sometimes we pray to God because we do not understand something and we are upset, and other times we go back and pray because we realize God knew all along. "Be sure to pay attention to what you hear. To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they think they have will be taken away from them." (Luke 8:18) The best way to always know that you are living right for the Lord is to say in the beginning, from now on whatever happens, good or bad, devastating or tragedy, I will always follow the Lord. I will never waiver. You have to know that God loves you and has your best interest at heart. Once quoted, "If we settle ahead of time that we will obey whatever God tells us, we will go into our time with him ready to hear his voice." Try it today, no matter what put God's word 1st, know in your heart ahead of time that you lean on God for everything. You will trust in God's word and know that he is ultimately in control and whatever he says goes. Remember at the end of the day pray for good and bad that has happened to you. Also, people that hurt you, pray for them. Turning God's attention towards them may be the very best gift they could ever receive. Spread the word, do not be scared of bringing God back into a world that has obviously shut him out, Finally in preparing for a wonderful God filled day, "In God WE trust," from here on out, they can remove it from our money, but not our HEARTS.
